Idaho Nordic Elite Athlete 2011-2012
Posted on October 3rd, 2011
Over the past few years Idaho Nordic has donated over $10,000 to an Idaho based skiers pursuing their Olympic aspirations. For the 2011-2012 we are fortunate to be able to help a skier with Boise ties. We are proud to introduce Morgan Arritola as our Idaho Nordic Elite Athlete for the season.
Stay tuned for information about upcoming clinics. In addition to the Idaho Nordic sponsorship if you would like to make a personal donation to help Morgan continue to pursue her nordic goals please contact info@idahonordic.com.

Per Morgan Arritola: I was born in Bend, OR and grew up in both Oregon and Idaho. In grade school I moved to Boise, ID where I really began to follow my dream of playing soccer in college and perhaps professionally. It wasn’t until high school when I moved to Ketchum, ID that I fell in to Nordic Skiing. At the age of 16 I had never seen nordic skiing but I felt it was time for a change and a new challenge so I went to a workout with the SVSEF team and Rick Kapala.
After 9 years of hard work I have been lucky enough to travel all over the world and race in numerous World Cup and World Championship events as well as the 2010 Whistler Olympics. I now call Ketchum home and live and work there when I am not on the road with the Sun Valley Elite Development Team. More recently I have also started to compete in a few trail running races.
I love being outside and I can’t wait until the day when my lifestyle affords me to have a dog! I really want a Burnese and a Doberman.
A few of my skiing accomplishments include:
3 Junior National Titles
2 Junior World Championship teams
2 U23 World Championship Teams (5th place 15K Pursuit, France)
2 World Championship teams (2 top 30s, Czech & Norway)
2010 Olympic Team
19th Place 15K Skate World Cup, France
US National Podiums

Creative Healing Art Exhibit
Posted on September 30th, 2011
| October 6, 2011 - |
Per Peggy Wilhelm:
I will be participating in the Creative Healing Art Exhibit held through the Elks Rehabilitation Center. Eight former patients will exhibit art on Thursday October 6 from 5-8 p.m. on the second floor of the Elks Rehab Hospital on the corner of Fort and Broadway very close to St. Luke’s. The Exhibit will explore how art has aided in their own medical and healing journies. It is very inspirational. I say that having presented last year but only hearing vicariously how inspiring people’s journies were (since I was in the coma already). So if you are in town, please come. I’ll be showing my ceramics and glass art along with stories of how the art reflects my health journey.

Otherwise just come and enjoy! I’ll be setting up a way to buy my art on-line after the show, for those who can’t make it. I can also custom make ceramic or glass pieces for you.
