Shane’s Trail Work Evening

Posted on April 15th, 2009

Less than a month after hanging up the skis a dedicated group of Idaho Nordic volunteers hit the trails again - this time to give back a little to the trails that we cherish for our dry-land workouts.  The IN crew buffed out Shane’s Trail on Tuesday evening under the guidance of Will from Ridge to Rivers.

Will explains the art of the Water Bar - “Be the Water”

Water Bar Training

Newbill is not building a jump.  He is re-establishing a washed out water bar.  Notice the amount of sand that had to be re-established.  The length of the water bar, not its height, enhances its strength.  This deflated our plans to put in some kickers.

Thanks to everyone that volunteered their time to make sure the trails stay in good shape.

Adopt a Trail - Idaho Nordic Work Evening

Posted on April 1st, 2009

April 14, 2009 - 5:30 pm -

We are scheduled to do our trail maintenance on Tuesday, April 14th at 5:45 PM. Expect a 2-3 hour time commitment.

We will be meeting Bart with Ridge to Rivers at the Shanes Loop Trail Head on Rocky Canyon Rd. He will be driving up the rig with all the equipment necessary to complete the trail maintenance. There is no need to bring any tools, just water, gloves, and hiking or work boots.

If it is raining Ridge to Rivers will decide by 3 PM on whether we can still work on the trail or re-schedule.  If rescheduled we will post on the website.

We are looking for between 10 and 15 people.  Email info@idahonordic.com if you would like to volunteer.

Carpoolers will meet at Fort Boise(where we do dry-land) at 5:30pm
