Spring Training - watch out for flying objects and arm yourself.
Posted on March 20th, 2009
From Hal Miller - Thursday evening a cyclist was assaulted while traveling on the greenbelt between diversion dam and Sandy Point State Park. This is the area of greenbelt where a concrete dividing wall exists between the road and the greenbelt. At roughly 5:30 PM a late model (07/08) black Chevy Silverado four door pick-up truck slowed down and started verbally abusing the cyclist when he was on solo training ride. The person in the truck then threw an object destroying the fork and sending the cyclist to ground and into the retaining wall destroying his bike and sending him to the hospital. Unfortunately the police don’t have enough information(isn’t that why they have detectives??) but we would like to warn our fellow cyclists that someone is truely out to hurt folks.

99 Bottles of Beer Ski Sprint
Posted on March 9th, 2009
| March 11, 2009 - 6:30 pm - |
You still have two more ski races……and with Idaho Nordic’s ingenious handicap system you, YES YOU, have a chance in hell of winning a ski race.
Before you shed your manhood and shave your legs for bike season or plod along at a 15 minute mile pace with the other Sheople that do Robie, wax em up and buy a good 6-pack of beer.
Entry Fee – Idaho Nordic Members Only and minimum $7.00 6-pack of beer for each race. If you wear a costume you must bring two 6-packs or you will be disqualified for being an attention seeking Looooozer. Preferably, American made beers to help arouse the economy.
Date: March 11th (Individual) and March 18th (Relay - Joe makes the teams)
Time: 6:30pm
Place: Trailhead, Bogus Basin Nordic Trails
Awards: All of the Entry Fee Beer. This is a winner takes all race. We strictly forbid the winner from sharing the beer that they win. We do encourage the winner to flaunt their winnings and talk trash afterwards. The winner could walk away with 99+ premium beers. This is a better payout than BMT or the Birkie.
Distance: about 7km The distance will not matter (read below).
Rules: Massive time handicap system, Fear Factor time bonuses, maybe a Poker game. Skiing naked does count as a costume. If you ski naked you will have to start 30 seconds after everyone, but will have 1 minute deducted from your time. This ensures all other participants get a good look.
