Potato Cup Pursuit - IN Series Race

20K/10K/6K Pursuit

10K Mass Start Classic followed by a short break and then an individual start 10K Skate. The classic will be run clockwise on the traditional race loop. The skate leg will use the same course counterclockwise. This was the format used in the 2008 race and skis very well both directions. Also, there will be 3K/5K distances as well as a seperate skate-only class.

Prairie Creek Snomaker - IN Series

Saturday January 3rd: CLASSIC ONLY - 2, 4, 7.5, 15 km
Start time: 11:00 am for Kids, 11:15 for 7.5 and 15km Interval Start / 4 skiers every minute

Registration: 9:30 to 10:30am

Location: Prairie Creek Trailhead, 14 Miles N. of Ketchum on Hwy. 75.

Cost: $5 Donation to the trail system; must have a NVT pass

Bogus Basin Hill Climb

36th Annual Bogus Basin Hill Climb
Saturday, September 6th, 2008
Presented By: George’s Cycles & the Boise Cycling Club
• Online registration only! Open now at www.spondoro.com thru midnight September 5th. NO RACE DAY REGISTRATION!
• New “Non-Competitive” Touring Category for 2008! This group will be lead by Mike Cooley, and will depart at 8:00am. (2-hour pace)
• Race Group Start Time: 9:30am (Mass Start, Separate times for all Age Groups, Tandems, & Clydesdale Categories)
• Fee: $28.00 (Fee includes Spondoro timing, BBHC Hat, and post-ride refreshments).
• 15-mile ascent (3,500 ft elevation gain), with the finish at Bogus Creek Lodge (Base Lodge)
• ‘Half-Way’ Mountain Sprint Prime (sponsored by Idaho Nordic) for first male and female in Racing Category.

XC12K Post Race Report

Another successful Foothills XC12K is in the books with two course records. Highschooler, Barak Watson, set a men’s record of 46:46 and Cori Mooney set the women’s record with a 53:30. A cool starting temp of 58 degrees and clear skies made this year’s race especially enjoyable.

6th Annual Idaho Nordic Expo and Gear Sale

On Saturday, October 25th, 2008 the 6th Annual Idaho Nordic Expo will take place at the Basque Center (601 Grove St, Boise). The Used Gear Sale will provide an excellent opportunity to buy or sell quality used cross country ski equipment. Here is the list of events which are all free to the public:

Used Gear Sale (Cross Country/Telemark Gear Only, no downhill equipment please)

Gear check-in from Noon to 1:00pm

Gear Sale from 12:30pm to 2:00pm

Unsold gear pick-up from 2:30pm to 3:30pm (all unclaimed gear will be donated to local ski programs).

A 20% commission on sold items will benefit the Bogus Basin Junior Nordic Team and Idaho Nordic.

Expo - Noon to 3:00pm

This is the one event to see everything related to cross country skiing. Representatives from area trail systems, local ski shops and clubs will display products and answer your questions. Seminars will also be available during Expo hours.

2008 XC12K Trail Running Race

This is a difficult 12K trail race that includes dirt roads, technical single track trails with over 2300 feet of elevation change. This loop course includes Central Ridge and Shane’s Trail loop. We are limited to 200 participants. Registration is on-line only.

Start/Finish: Fort Boise Park, Mt Cove Street Parking Lot

Start Time: 8am Sharp

Awards/Raffle: 9:30am
