Ski Selection: Your favorite hard wax classic ski.
Base Prep: Clean glide zone of classic skis by brushing 10 strokes with the medium bronze brush(T160). Clean kick zone with Swix base cleaner and Fiberlene, sand kick zone with 100 grit sandpaper in Linear Motion.
Structure: Fine linear. Can be applied with the Swix Super Riller using the fine .5mm blade.
GLIDE WAX
Race Wax: Apply Swix LF7. Scrape with a sharp scraper and brush with the medium bronze brush(T160). Final brushing can be done with the Blue Nylon or Horsehair brushes.
For faster skis apply Swix HF7 or HF7BD after base prep as described above.
For the ultimate ski and to catch the eye of the Olympic Selection Committee, apply a final coat of FC7!!
KICK WAX
Binder Wax: Apply VG35, iron in and cork smooth. Let cool.
Race Wax: Apply thin layers of VR45 or V45 kick wax using the POWER PYRAMID. If more glide is desired you may wax with VR40 or V40 and cover with a cushion of VR45. Some final testing and experimentation may be necessary depending on actual temperature and snow conditions resulting from the forecast storm.
Notes: Tracks may be soft on freshly fallen snow. In these conditions it may be useful to extend the kick zone for a little extra grip to fight the snow shear. The course is also hilly allowing for a great workout and a fun race. Have a fun race on one of the most beautiful courses in the country!
